ECU’s own Dr. Ken Hada will be featured at “Last Sunday Poetry Readings” this weekend at Full Circle Bookstore in OKC

We'll look forward to seeing you at our usual Last Sunday Poetry Readings at Full Circle gathering this Sunday! February's featured poet Ken Hada will kick things off at 2 PM before we move into our usual open mic formation the cafe at Full Circle Bookstore, so bring a poem or two if you'd like to share.

Here's a taste of Ken Hada's work, his poem "With the Owls":

I sit quietly with the owls.
Every evening they call darkness
as sure as cloudy skies
closer than stars.

They know what they’re doing.
I envy their constancy,
their sheer belief
in the way things ought to be.

Sometimes their calls
are soft, subtle,
sometimes not –
but always abrupt,

they bring me back
to sanity, to routine,
to the goodness
God built into them.

The owls, the trees,
the darkness – this
is what matters.
This is where truth begins.
