110 Years of Dedicated Service

On August 29, 1916, the United States Marine Corps Reserve was officially established through the Naval Appropriations Act signed by President Woodrow Wilson. Over the past 110 years, the Reserve has evolved from a small force into an indispensable part of the Marine Corps and the nation's defense.

Marine Reservists have answered the call in every major conflict since their creation, serving alongside active-duty Marines in support of missions across the globe. Balancing military service with civilian careers and community responsibilities, they embody the values of honor, courage, and commitment every day.

As the Marine Corps Reserve marks its 110th anniversary, we honor the generations of Reservists whose dedication, readiness, and sacrifice have strengthened our nation. Happy 110th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and thank you to all who have proudly served.
