Join the Spring 2027 LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education I Promise School Learning Community!

The I Promise School Learning Community consists of 3 classes held at the I Promise School: Urban Youth Mentoring, Introduction to Education, and Introduction to Exceptionalities.

Here is what students are saying about being part of the IPS Learning Community.

-Being part of this community has cemented my path of becoming a teacher through meeting the wonderful kids and getting to see how schools work from the other side of the desk.

-Being in a learning community has taught me responsibility, professionalism, respect, and has given be a sense of belonging.

-The learning community has given me opportunities it would be hard to receive without. This community gave me opportunities to meet people in the same field and people I can rely on when I need help.

-Being a part of the Learning Community has been nothing short of amazing. I feel like being in the LC eased my anxiety about some of the classes since it has the same people in them.

-Being able to have multiple classes with the same people has also made it a lot easier to build relationships and friendships.

Thank you so much to everyone that was able to visit our homecoming open house at the LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education. It was a wonderful time for all. Additionally, congratulations to those of you who were winners at the raffle and auction, we greatly appreciate your support. Go Zips!

Join the LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education as we celebrate Homecoming this Saturday (10/10) with an open house starting at 10 a.m. The school’s many education centers and studios will be open to look through, and there will be some hands-on activities and events.

Additionally, the Pop Culture Studio will have a raffle and some auction items out front, across from the Union. Items include:

Auction:

• A Cleveland Cavs basket with an autographed hat by Donovan Mitchell
• A signed David Njoku photo
• A Browns flag signed by Harold Fanning Jr.

Raffle:

• 4 tickets to the Akron Zoo (with a stuffed sea turtle)
• 4 tickets to the RubberDucks

What a fun day of bringing Shakespeare to life! 🎭

The University of Akron AYA ELA education students in the Barberton collaboration class acted out the final battle scene from Macbeth for Barberton High School seniors today, wrapping up the play in dramatic fashion!

What a great way to make literature come alive! 👏📚
