Dear FB Friends,

We learned yesterday that long time NMSU-A instructor, "Tio" Pete Eidenbach passed away over the weekend. Pete was an icon on our campus for many years and was loved and respected by a tremendous number of students, faculty, and staff. We will share more information as it becomes available. Please keep Pete’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Howdy folks

One of the issues about which we have gotten calls and emails from you over the last few weeks is about items you may have checked out from the Townsend Library. We have responded to each individual request on a case by case basis. Realizing that some of you may be reluctant to reach out to us about this, we have made a global change to due dates. We have renewed all items checked out from the Townsend Library since January 1, 2020 until August 15th, 2020. You should have gotten an email by now from the Library System documenting this.(You may, of course, put them in our book drop anytime, if you prefer)
If you have an item checked out from the Townsend Library and you did not get an email about the due date change, please contact the Townsend Library:

Attention Students: Improve those scholarship applications and resumes Volunteer Opportunity in Alamogordo, NM Relay for Life - American Cancer Society Otero County If you are interested in joining the Event Leadership Team for Relay for Life, there will be a meeting on Wed May 22. Please see details below. We are going to be discussing the Relay for Life kick-off that will be at White Sands Mall in Alamogordo on Fri June 28 5-9 p.m. This is also where the event itself will be held in October. We will also be talking about getting involved with the 4th of July parade on Thur Jul 4 on 10th street 9-10 a.m. We still really need volunteers to help make this event a success so if you or anyone you know is interested in joining please invite them to this meeting. The Relay for Life doesn’t happen until October but the planning and organizing has already begun. There are many positions still available on the ELT. Please come with any ideas you feel would be helpful. If you know of any events happening in or around town that we could do a tabling at that would be great. The tabling events help bring awareness and raise money for Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society. Also, volunteering in this capacity would be a good addition to any future scholarship applications as well as resumes.
