SUNY Optometry will host free vision screening September 2nd and SUNY Upstate Medical University will host free breast cancer screenings September 2nd and 3rd at the Great New York State Fair. From treating New Yorkers to educating the next generation of health care professionals, we're committed to increasing access to quality care throughout New York.

Vision screening is set for Sept. 2 with breast cancer screening set for Sept 2 and 3.

Keeping our students engaged!

For the upcoming fall semester, SUNY students will take classes to build on civic discourse skills and how to participate in our democracy. These courses will help them learn how to have difficult conversations about complex issues and productively work with people with different perspectives.

Incoming fall class will have to take a new general education course, aiming to teach students how to handle their civic duties.

Fun time at the Fair!

The Great New York State Fair hosted Student Youth Day for the first time, which allowed current SUNY students with a valid student ID or incoming SUNY students with admission letters to enter the Fair for free. The Fair also showcased agriculture, healthcare, technologies, and more from SUNY campuses.

Looking out for our students❤️‍🩹

SUNY Niagara has consolidated existing services into a Health and Wellness center for students who feel physically or mentally unwell. This gives the students an opportunity to receive care and comfort in privacy.

SUNY Niagara has a new 4,000-square-foot Health and Wellness center for students who feel either physically or mentally unwell.

Chancellor King visited Jefferson Community College to highlight the Reconnect program, which offers free tuition, books, and supplies for eligible adult learners. This visit also showcased the health sciences, cybersecurity, and engineering programs, also included in SUNY Reconnect.

With the Workforce Pell Program applications now open, students pursuing short-term training for high-demand jobs can apply to fast-track their careers. This will help support New York State's critical industries, such as healthcare and advanced manufacturing.

This allows us to keep the service stable, secure, and running smoothly for everyone. We’re continuously optimizing performance to deliver the best possible experience.

Helping out our communities💖

Emily Dickey, a student from the State University of New York at Buffalo, is part of the Social Impact Fellows program where she is able to advance missions of nonprofit organizations in Western New York while pursuing her law degree. This shows how University at Buffalo is able to offer Emily a chance finish her degree while connecting with the communities she is wanting to help.

Since 2017, more than 200 UB students have taken part in the Social Impact Fellows program in more than 70 different internships in the Buffalo area.

Nominations for the annual Harvey Milk Award for Student Leadership are now open. The award recognizes one upper-level undergraduate and one graduate student for their dedication to improving LGBTQ+ inclusivity on campus.
