The Urban Libraries Council is excited to welcome 2007 program alum Sukrit Goswami as the new director of the San Antonio Public Library. Since 2018, he has served as the Library Director of the Haverford Township Free Library in Havertown, Pennsylvania, where he led a multi-million-dollar library building renovation and expansion project.

Prior to assuming this role, Sukrit served as Executive Director for the Montgomery County Libraries and Information Network Consortium in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

"My participation in the University at Albany MBA for Executives Program has significantly enhanced my leadership, strategic decision-making, and financial management skills. Avangrid has promoted 2014 University at Albany MBA for Executives Program alum Alex Novicki from Principal Regulatory Analyst to Policy Manager-New York ISO. He has been with the company since 2021.

Previously, he worked at SABIC for a year and a half as an Inside Sales Representative and Customer Service for Specialty Film and Sheet and later for NYISO for five years in a couple of different stakeholder services roles.

The University at Albany MBA for Executives Program's 2024 cohort is on a roll, with four alums advancing in their careers since graduation, including one who entered the C-suite! The latest is cohort president Monica Wendell, who was recently promoted to Assistant Vice President, Human Resources at Ballston Spa National Bank. She joined the bank in 2021 as a Human Resources Generalist and moved up to Senior Human Resources Generalist two years later.

She serves as a strategic partner within the organization and is responsible for a variety of key human resource functions, including recruiting, benefits, payroll, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Monica said, "I believe the University at Albany, SUNY MBA for Executives Program has played a pivotal role in advancing my career. It has helped me to approach situations with a broader, more strategic perspective."

It keeps getting better and better for 2012 University at Albany MBA for Executives Program grad Tony Scibelli, who was recently named System Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Fairview Hospital, part of Berkshire Health Systems (BHS), in Great Barrington, MA. He is the second program alum to reach the C-suite in the last few months.

Tony is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and managing Fairview Hospital operations to support the achievement of Berkshire Health System’s mission, strategies, and operating plans. He also collaborates with BHS to represent Fairview Hospital and the Health System in the local community to support positive community relations, philanthropy, and government relations.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared, "The University at Albany, SUNY MBA program prepared me to take on a role such as this by having courses that were well rounded, giving me the confidence to lead an organization."

Katherine Putnam has done it again! After being promoted to the Chief Portfolio Office for the New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) as a Technical Project Manager, a support model shift created an opportunity for her to join the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) as the Portfolio Manager, where she will lead the effort to reestablish the Project and Portfolio Management Unit.

In her new role, Katherine will focus on strengthening collaboration between ITS and OMH, with one impactful project being the modernization of information systems across mental health facilities and programs. This modernization effort aims to improve efficiency, enhance care delivery, and ensure tailored support for New York residents.

Jennifer Thomas is letting little grass grow underneath her feet at Plug Power! A scant six months after being advanced to Lead Financial Reporting Analyst, the 2025 University at Albany MBA for Executives Program cohort member has been promoted to Assistant Controller, Applications Finance. She joined the company in 2021 as a Senior Financial Analyst-FP&A.

In her new role, Jen will assist with oversight of financial reporting for assigned business unit, budgeting, and cost analysis to ensure accurate financial management and compliance with industry standards as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance and support strategic decision-making within the organization.

“Pursuing an Executive MBA has significantly enhanced my career by equipping me with advanced leadership skills, strategic thinking, and immediate applicability of knowledge, leading to notable career advancement and increased professional credibility," she remarked.
