BLET Cadets Giving Back to Our Community!

At Stanly Community College, we believe that becoming a law enforcement officer is about much more than earning a badge. It's about service, compassion, and making a positive difference in the communities we serve.

Each year, we encourage our Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) cadets to participate in community service events that reinforce these values.

This year, our cadets have chosen to support the 15th Annual Stanly County Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride, hosted by the Guardian Nomad Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. Our cadets will be volunteering their time to assist with this wonderful fundraiser, helping bring Christmas joy to children in need.

🎅 Saturday, November 7, 2026

📍 The Brew Room – 175 Ray Kennedy Drive, Locust, NC

🏍️ Registration: 9:00 AM

🏍️ Kickstands Up: 10:00 AM

🎁 How can you help?

Whether you ride a motorcycle or not, everyone can make a difference! Join the ride, participate in the event, or simply stop by and donate a new, unwrapped toy. Every contribution helps make a child's Christmas a little brighter.

We are proud of our BLET cadets for recognizing that community service doesn't begin when you graduate from the academy. It begins with a willingness to serve others today.

Please come out and support our cadets, the Guardian Nomad LEMC, and most importantly, the children who will benefit from this incredible cause!

Serving our community. Making a difference. One child at a time.

We were excited to welcome Laine Wasilewski, Senior Distribution Sales Manager with Hypertherm Associates, to SCC's welding lab recently!

With 10 years of experience as a welder before joining Hypertherm, Laine shared valuable industry knowledge and led a hands-on plasma cutting demonstration for our students. Her expertise, real-world perspective, and engaging presentation made for an outstanding learning experience.

Thank you to Laine and Hypertherm Associates for investing in workforce development and helping prepare the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
