Transfer students don’t just find a campus—they find a place to lead. 🌟

Bella Bakeman ‘25 made the most of her Albion journey, balancing an English major, political science minor, and secondary education concentration with leadership that spanned storytelling, advocacy, community-building, and scholarship.

As editor-in-chief of The Albion Pleiad, creative non-fiction Editor of The Albion Review, secretary of Students for Reproductive Justice, and historian of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Fraternity, Bella made every chapter count. She also completed the Maemester Boundary Crossings experience where she designed and taught her own high school English lesson for three weeks. 📚

“The moon is like a time capsule ... Evidence preserved in its samples can be used to infer what happened on Earth and Mars in ancient times.” 🌕 – Physics Professor Nicolle Zellner

Zellner’s 2009 analysis of lunar impact glass has inspired new investigations into an ancient impact shower that struck the Moon, Earth, and other planets. A recent paper published in the Planetary Science Journal outlines how Zellner and her colleagues have found other phenomena that support those original findings, exploring likely links between these astrological events and the beginnings of life on Earth.

A historic moment for Albion College! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Joe Serra ‘82 and Julie Serra have made a $10 million unrestricted gift to Albion, the largest outright gift in the College’s history. 💜💛

This gift lets Albion invest where it matters most for students: scholarships, new experiential learning opportunities, and a redesigned core curriculum. Joe and Julie will also co-chair Albion’s comprehensive campaign, which is currently in the leadership phase.

“Albion changed Joe’s life, and we want to make sure it can keep doing that for the next generations,” said the Serras. “This gift is our way of saying we’re all in.” 🕯️

From the Serra Fitness Center to the renovation of historic Kresge Gym, the Serras have been shaping the Albion experience for years, and this gift is their boldest yet. Thank you, Joe and Julie! 🙌

Always a Brit! 💛💜

What a weekend back on campus! From the Athletic Hall of Fame induction to a packed day of tailgating, Homecoming 2026 was full of purple and gold pride.

We cheered on the Brits all weekend long. In between, we caught up with old friends at Greek open houses and class reunions (shoutout to the Class of ‘76 on 50 years! 🎉), toured the newly renovated Kresge Commons in Wesley Hall, and wrapped it all up with the Homecoming Concert at Goodrich Chapel.
