Welcome to The Center for English Language and American Culture (CELAC) at the University of New Mexico! As the University’s intensive English program, our mission is to prepare international students and professionals with the language skills necessary to succeed in a wide variety of academic studies or professional settings in the United States and in English speaking countries around the world. Students also learn about American culture through active involvement in the UNM campus community and from participating in fun field trips around the state of New Mexico. CELAC students can easily transition into University studies at UNM upon successfully completing our English classes and receiving a passing score on our institutional TOEFL exam. Assistance with the application process and academic advisement is always available at CELAC. We hope you will choose CELAC for your English studies and look forward to meeting you soon!
