Every student who comes to UNM arrives with a story and the possibility of writing what comes next.
For some, a scholarship makes that first day possible. For others, it is the mentor who sees their potential, the graduate fellowship
that allows them to pursue an idea, or the experience that changes the direction of their life. Our responsibility is to make sure
talent can become achievement. Because when a student succeeds, that success reaches beyond a diploma. It strengthens families,
communities and generations.
Be the Reason opportunity becomes possibility.

Today, UNM launches Accelerate New Mexico. At the heart of this campaign are the students, faculty and ideas already shaping what comes next across our University and our state. Accelerate New Mexico is about helping more students access opportunity, giving faculty the support to do their best work and creating more room for research and discovery to grow. The potential is already here. Together, we can help it go further. Be the Reason We Accelerate New Mexico.

We’re proud to share that the UNM Master of Public Administration (MPA) program has been reaccredited by NASPAA through 2033!

NASPAA accreditation is the recognized standard of excellence in graduate public service education and reflects the quality of our curriculum, faculty, student learning, governance, and commitment to public service.

We’re especially proud of what this recognition says about the strength of our program and our continued commitment to preparing public and nonprofit leaders to serve New Mexico and beyond.

Public Service Recognition Week takes place in the first week of May and will be held from May 3 to 9 this year. It starts on the first Sunday of the month and lasts a week. The purpose of celebrating this week is to admire and honor the people who deliver public service to us and make everyday chores possible for us. From basic transportation services to the roads and pavements we travel on, we make use of many government-sponsored facilities on a daily basis. It is thanks to the efforts of public service employees that we are able to go about our daily lives. So, this week, we raise our glasses to the people employed in the public sector and shine the spotlight on their work.
