The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) recently honored Dr. Adena LeJeune, CPA, CFF, for her outstanding contributions to the accounting profession. The award was presented at LCPA’s 2nd Annual Ledgers & Legends Ball on August 15 at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. Dr. LeJeune received LCPA’s Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award, which recognizes a full-time accounting educator whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the profession. As an Associate Professor of Accounting at LSU Alexandria, Dr. LeJeune has influenced thousands of accounting students, helping prepare and inspire the next generation of CPAs. She is a longtime member of LCPA’s Accounting Education Issues Committee and serves as a Member-at-Large of the association’s Central Louisiana Chapter.

ALL IN. That was the theme of this year's College of Business faculty retreat at AEX Airport.

We laughed, we cried (yes, really), and we learned a lot about each other.

Our guest speaker, Scott Gammel, shared the story of England Airpark and its work driving economic development for Central Louisiana; a mission that hits close to home for us at LSUA.

We were honored to have special guests join us for lunch: our Chancellor, Dr. Elizabeth Beard; our Provost, Dr. Nathan Sammons; and our Assistant Vice Provost, Dr. Jessica Lemoine. And a special thank-you to Mrs. Lisa Watkins, our custodian, for celebrating with us too; because ALL IN means everyone.

We set our priorities for the academic year, and mapped out our work on our ACBSP Quality Assurance Report.

We are ALL IN. LOCKED IN to our mission of serving our students and Central Louisiana.

Elon's been touring Louisiana looking for land. He stopped by to say hi to our new faculty and wish us a great year. He asked if campus was for sale. We said sure. Then we told him the price. He got quiet, got in his Cybertruck and left!

What does good AI prompting look like? Alexandria Country Day School faculty and staff found out firsthand! Dr. Grant Clary and Dean Rafael Romero of the LSUA College of Business led an interactive workshop where teachers wrote and tested their own AI project instructions; then walked away with real tools for lesson planning, differentiated instruction, and creating slides, videos, and more.

Grateful for the chance to partner with ACDS and support educators across Central Louisiana. 💛💜

What a way to finish an LSUA career! Stephen Roozendal of LSUA Baseball has been named the RRAC Etier Male Character Athlete of the Year; the one award in the conference that isn't about stats or standings. It's about respect, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership, and out of every male athlete at every RRAC school, Stephen earned it.

Congratulations Stephen, you've represented LSUA the right way from day one. We can't wait to see what's next for you!

A big congratulations to Dr.Nathan Sammons!

Please join us in congratulating Nathan Sammons, Ph.D., on his appointment as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at LSUA.

A longtime member of the LSUA family, Sammons has served as a faculty member, department chair, assistant vice chancellor, and dean during one of the most transformative periods in the university's history. His leadership has helped launch innovative academic programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, information technology, and healthcare while strengthening workforce partnerships, experiential learning, and student success initiatives across campus.

As Provost, Sammons will serve as LSUA's chief academic officer, leading the university's academic enterprise and helping ensure our programs continue preparing graduates for the evolving needs of Louisiana's workforce.

Congratulations, Dr. Sammons! We look forward to your leadership as LSUA continues building on its national momentum.
