A message from our President, Dr. Geofrey Mills. At CIAM, we go beyond traditional learning by integrating theory with hands-on experience, ensuring that students not only understand leadership concepts but also know how to apply them in real-world situations. Through this dynamic approach, we empower the next generation of leaders with the critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in today’s evolving business landscape.
This iconic quote by Drucker isn’t just a powerful statement—it’s a core belief at CIAM. We don’t just teach strategy; we shape leaders who understand that a thriving culture is the true driver of success.
Whether you’re earning your MBA, Master’s in Organizational Leadership, or Master’s in Data Analytics, CIAM integrates this mindset into every program. Our students don’t just learn to lead—they learn to lead with purpose, empathy, and impact.
In a world driven by rapid change and organizational complexity, Peter Drucker’s words remind us of a fundamental truth: without intentional leadership, disorder is the default.
At CIAM, we go beyond teaching leadership—we cultivate leaders grounded in Peter Drucker’s philosophy of Management as a Liberal Art. Through our MA in Organizational Leadership, students learn to transform confusion into clarity, friction into progress, and underperformance into meaningful impact.
CIAM extends warm wishes for a joyful and peaceful Easter to all who celebrate. As we honor this sacred holiday weekend, we recognize the significance it holds for many in our community and beyond. May this season bring renewal, hope, and meaningful moments with loved ones.

The MLA (Management as a Liberal Art) philosophy, inspired by Peter Drucker’s teachings, offers a transformative approach to leadership and management that integrates ethical responsibility, human development, and purposeful innovation. As illustrated in the image, it is people-centric, placing human dignity and individual development at the heart of organizational practices. It is also purpose-driven, encouraging leaders to define and act on a mission with integrity. Ethics plays a foundational role, where business is seen as a vehicle to serve society ethically, not just generate profit. Additionally, adaptability is embraced, promoting innovation and responsiveness in an ever-changing world. This philosophy challenges traditional business models by viewing management not just as a science or skill, but as a liberal art—rooted in wisdom, self-knowledge, and service to the common good. It equips leaders to think critically, act ethically, and lead with vision, making it especially relevant in today’s complex global landscape.
April is Armenian Heritage Month in California, a time to honor the immense contributions of Armenians across various fields, driven by their innovation and resilience. LA County is home to the largest Armenian population outside of Armenia, a testament to the enduring spirit of a people who rebuilt their lives after tragedy. April was chosen for this recognition in honor of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on April 24, a solemn tribute to the 1.5 million lives lost in one of history’s darkest atrocities. Those who survived and escaped found refuge in the United States. Remarkably, many of the pioneers and inventors who have shaped modern technology, medicine, and industry are descendants of genocide survivors—exemplifying their perseverance and impact in building a better future.
Today. Armenians in LA are recognized as pioneering public figures, philanthropists, physicians, attorneys, and highly educated leaders who play a vital role in shaping California’s culture. As a community deeply familiar with injustice, they are steadfast advocates for human rights, standing alongside others to fight against oppression and inequity. Their dedication continues to drive progress, making a lasting impact across industries and society.

Peter Drucker emphasized that effective communication is not just about delivering a message but ensuring that it is understood as intended. He believed that communication is the foundation of management, as it enables leaders to align their teams, set clear objectives, and drive organizational success. Drucker highlighted that listening is just as important as speaking, stressing that managers must actively seek to understand their audience’s needs and perspectives. He also warned against the assumption that being articulate equates to being understood, emphasizing that communication should be audience-centered and results-oriented. For Drucker, the true test of communication is not what is said but what is received and acted upon.
