Meet Dr. Sturdivant, INE program director and Muhlenberg ‘02 alum!
“INE isn’t about me, it’s about empowering our students, our lab technicians, our faculty, staff, and our community.” — Dr. Kecia Sturdivant

Dr. Sturdivant serves as Program Director for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (INE) and Graduate Organizational Leadership, and Assistant Professor at Muhlenberg College.

In her classes and events at the INE Center, the focus is entirely on uplifting others, mentoring student technicians to lead in the lab, hosting inclusive campus events, and helping everyone who walks through the door find their creative spark.

Whether you’re taking a class, looking to host an event, or just need a welcoming space to clear your head, recharge, and make something new, Dr. Sturdivant and the INE team are here for you. Because here at INE, the sky’s the limit!

What happens when student leaders turn weeks of venture strategy into a 15-minute physical prototype challenge? Pure magic. ✨

In our INE 201 course at Muhlenberg, students took weeks of slide deck theory, customer validation, operations, sourcing, and pricing strategies, and brought it to life on the spot in the FabLab using LEGOs!

Check out what our student teams built in under 20 minutes:

⛳ Golf & Event Destinations: High-end wedding & golfer venues paired with custom FabLab hardware.

💄 Beauty & Retail Strategy: Deep examination, Sephora’s business model using a glass funnel base, topped with a yellow LEGO heart representing the “heart of the business” & core value proposition!

🛸 Futuristic Automotive & Sports:3D-printed & LEGO prototypes of sports cars and flying saucers!

🛏️ Sustainable Luxury Living:Sustainable bedding & eco-friendly home textile displays.

🌱 Smart Lawn & Designer Estates: High-end, eco-friendly lawn services engineered for designer properties.

Connecting real venture theory with rapid, hands-on creation is what innovation at Muhlenberg is all about! 🚀✨

Today is World Mental Health Day, but real care is a daily practice. 💞

For me, it starts in the classroom, taking the first few minutes of class to check in with my students. But seeing how that care comes right back across our Muhlenberg College campus is what means the world.

It’s in a warm smile, a simple hello, or a student noticing a need and jumping in with, “How can I help?”

This laser-cut rose from our Innovation & Entrepreneurship lab is just one quiet reflection of how our students show up with heart every single day.

To everyone who quietly steps up and checks in: thank you for making our community so special. ✨

So grateful to have attended another incredible WISDOM event at Lehigh University!

Beyond proud of all the brilliant students who presented their research today, especially our Muhlenberg College presenters: Charley McNeilly ’28, Hannah Spencer ’27, Madeline Calvert ’28, and Melina Sarion ’27!

A huge thank you to WISDOM, Dirk Frese, Petra Frese (Peak Mind Academy), and Tricia (Conti) Bowman (JULABO USA) for bringing everyone together.

Always special to represent Muhlenberg alongside my wonderful colleagues Jen Sarnitsky and Sue McNeilly, Professor Yaghoobian, and to see alum Tricia shining in the room!

Love supporting these incredible students and connecting with so many wonderful leaders in our community! 💜

A huge thank you to Zachary Mannheimer (’99) for taking the time to speak with our students today! 🏗️✨

From studying Theatre and Philosophy at Muhlenberg to building creative communities and pioneering 3D concrete printing with Alquist to tackle the national housing crisis, Zachary showed us what’s possible when you blend a liberal arts foundation with bold vision.

Such a powerful, insight-packed session for our students on building an industry, leading with vision, and turning ideas into action!

“Find the vision that you want to create... if you believe in it, you have to will it into action.”

📍Fahy Commons & Maker Space | Muhlenberg College

Huge thank you to Scott Kelly, Drew Lavine, Emily Bettys, Muhlenberg Admissions, and Career Services for hosting Cheltenham High School today!

Our 11th & 12th grade Environmental Engineering students toured Fahy Commons with lead architect (and CHS parent!) Scott Kelly to kick off their campus sustainability redesign project. 🌱🏗️

From 3D printing in the Maker Space to exploring interactive Jamboards, stock market links, and gaming tech—our Panthers were totally inspired! 💡⚙️ And yes, the emergency tour snacks kept everyone away from the Chocolate Cake for the bake-off!
