The final round of rodeo action takes place at the S.A.L.E Arena tonight, where nine of Sul Ross’ cowboys will compete for the championship titles.
On their home turf, these athletes will give it their all to bring home the top spot during tonight’s performance.
In ba****ck riding, Garrett Blackwell still holds the lead with his first-night score of 82. Sul Ross had two steer wrestlers make it to the short go. Zane Cline leads the team, sitting in third place after his run of 5.3 seconds, while Cameron Haumea was bumped a few spots and sits in sixth with his 8.2-second run.
After last night’s performance and this morning’s slack run, Sul Ross still has a leader in the team roping, with Colton Williamson. He and his partner, Zander Hinton from Tarleton, kept their top spot with their 5.8-second run. Sul Ross’ Bridger Ketchum sits in third with his Weatherford College partner, Treston Brazile, with a time of 6.5, and rounding out the event is the Sul Ross pair of Rendon Powledge and Dax Reed in fourth, with a time of 6.9 headed into the short go.
Last, but certainly not least, Sul Ross put up two bull riders for the short go tonight, with Dax Reed still sitting atop the leaderboard with his 84-point ride, and freshman newcomer Anthony ‘A.J.’ Hatchett sitting in sixth with last night’s score of 70 points.
Come on out for the final night of Sul Ross Rodeo action and cheer on our Lobos as they fight for their points to send them to the College National Finals and make the Bar-SR-Bar proud. Tonight’s performance begins at 7 p.m.
