Congratulations to Sarah Brashears, recipient of the Henry Bickerstaff Scholarship, awarded through the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) Educational Foundation! 📚❤️

The Henry Bickerstaff Scholarship is awarded to outstanding accounting students who reside in or attend a university in northwestern Oklahoma. We are proud to celebrate Sarah and her accomplishments as she continues her accounting education with the Division of Business at Northwestern Oklahoma State University!

The OSCPA Educational Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to promoting the accounting profession by supporting Oklahoma’s most promising accounting students. Through generous contributions from businesses, communities, and, most importantly, OSCPA members, the Foundation provides scholarships to help Oklahoma college students pursue their education and build the next generation of the state’s accounting workforce. For the 2026–2027 school year, the Foundation awarded $90,000 in scholarships to 51 students across the state. We are honored to see Sarah among this year’s scholarship recipients!

Barrett is involved in Northwestern Scholar Ambassadors (NSA) and the Division of Business Student Advisory Council. He has also previously been involved in President’s Leadership Class and was a Division II student-athlete in football.

Yesterday was a special day for the NWOSU Division of Business as faculty, staff, current students, and alumni gathered to celebrate the dedication of our new classrooms, made possible through the incredible generosity of David K. Johnson.

The celebration also honored Mr. Johnson with an Honorary Doctorate of Business Leadership, recognizing his lasting impact on Northwestern and his commitment to investing in our students and their future.

From supporting scholarships to enhancing classrooms and technology, Dr. Johnson’s generosity is creating meaningful opportunities and strengthening the student experience for generations of Rangers to come!

You’re invited to join us for the Entrepreneur Seminar that will take place on Thursday and Friday, November 5–6!

This special 3-credit-hour course is a great opportunity for business students to earn an upper-level elective while gaining valuable insight into entrepreneurship. For students pursuing accounting, the course may also provide hours applicable toward the CPA exam. 👏
Not looking to enroll? You can still join in and watch the seminar from any NWOSU campus, including Alva!

IMPORTANT: Students who enroll in Entrepreneur Seminar (GBUS 4423) will need to attend the seminar in person at the Enid campus.

Before you head back to campus, make sure you’ve:
✅ Enrolled in your classes
✅ Checked your class schedule
✅ Updated your résumé with any summer experience
✅ Found a student organization to get involved in— the Ranger Business Club is a great place to build your network, develop leadership skills, and meet fellow business students!
✅ Check your NWOSU student email regularly for any updates
