Giving is a tradition in this area

This editorial written in the Newsgram really sums up the giving spirit of northwest Oklahoma.
We are grateful for all that our alumni, friends and community members to do to support one another.

"The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation receives donations from all over the country to provide scholarships to students. Businesses and individuals contribute to the annual scholarship drives. The university also benefits through the establishment of chairs and donations for special projects."

My three-year-old great granddaughter sat demurely in the church pew, munching thoughtfully on slender pretzel sticks. Carefully she selected two sticks from her sandwich bag. Edging past my knees, she presented the pair to her mother, whispering that one was for her mom and the other for her one-ye...

Northwestern Then & Now

A fun look into the past...
Rich Cantillon (’81) and Greg Bowman (’82), two fraternity brothers and 2020 Outstanding Graduates, competed for the 1980 Mr. NWOSU title.

Before you look at the caption, can you figure out who is who?
---------------------------------------------
We asked the two men to recount memories of their time at Northwestern.

Cantillon, Outstanding Graduate in the Business/Professional category, said, “Three things stand out about Northwestern. Incredible instructors who are now personal friends, my fraternity and the town of Alva.”

Bowman, Outstanding Graduate in the Ranger Spirit category, said, “That was a really good time in my life. So many fun times with a great group of guys that I miss.”

Many things have changed at Northwestern, but what always remains is the Ranger family, its members and our Ranger spirit. We are excited to continue sharing photos to highlight the things of the past and present that make us Northwestern!

Here is the full quote from the graphic below:

“This pandemic has provided the opportunity to learn. With any new disease entity, we find ourselves clamoring for knowledge. What has been an inspiration to all of us practicing has been the fact that those same individuals who have been throwing out disease revelations and research findings with amazing rapidity have also given us hope. They have presented an incredible amount of new information that has been very helpful in our management.

“I also have been truly inspired by the people I work with, including other physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, aides, administration people, maintenance workers, housekeeping staff and central stores people. None of them are shirking their responsibility and they are fearless.”

Update on our free delivery services:

The impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has on our local community will create needs that we have not yet realized. To meet those needs, we will update our Coronavirus Mission Plan to serve in additional ways.

Presently, we have not yet established a partnership with Atwoods, as some of asked. This may change and we will announce through various communication channels when it happens. It is always best to start with a call to the merchant.

We are here to help our community. If anyone has a need for assistance that may go beyond the delivery of groceries and prescriptions, please give us a call at (580) 327-8593. We will do our best to help.
