Our incoming BSN students kicked off the week in their NURS 3013 course, where they begin building the foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them for success as they enter the nursing program full-time this August.

This week in lab, students gained hands-on experience with essential nursing skills, including taking vital signs, proper use of personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, patient transfers, and more. We are excited to watch this group grow and develop into the next generation of nurses. Welcome to the start of an exciting journey!

Congratulations to NWOSU Nursing alum Maria Jose Cornwell (BSN ’25) on receiving the DAISY Award!

Maria is finishing her first year as a registered nurse in the ICU at INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital and is already being recognized for her exceptional patient care, compassion, and dedication to her patients and families.

We are incredibly proud to see our graduates already making such a meaningful impact so early in their nursing careers. Congratulations, Maria! This recognition is well deserved.

Mrs. Martin had a great time visiting the students at Trout Elementary in Ponca City yesterday for Career Day. She enjoyed talking with the students about what it means to be a nurse, the many different roles nurses serve in, and the importance of compassion and caring for others. Thank you to Trout Elementary for the invitation and for giving students the opportunity to learn about careers in healthcare.
