Our A/C is having some issues right now, and we’re down to one chiller in the library. We’ve got fans running to keep things as comfortable as possible, but it may feel a bit warmer than usual.

We’re working to get everything fixed ASAP—thanks so much for your patience while we sort it out!

📣 PSA: We’re Turning Into Pumpkins at 10 PM (Temporarily) 🎃📚

From August 17 – September 11, the library will close at 10:00 PM instead of our usual midnight.

Why? Because we’re training our amazing new student employees, and they need sleep, snacks, and knowledge, not 2 a.m. energy drink-fueled chaos (yet).

We’ll be back to midnight hours on September 14.

Thanks for your patience, and be nice to the newbies, they're learning where the printers are too!

The only thing scarier than seeing a HUGE spider in the library staff room is NOT seeing a spider in the library staff room. Incidentally, we now have a pet spider. We're workshopping its name. So far we have Melvin or George. 🕷

Due to possible severe weather in the area, the library will close at 3:00PM today. As a reminder, the J.W. Martin Library is NOT a designated tornado shelter. For more information regarding severe weather procedures, visit the University's Severe Weather/Tornado Procedures page -

During periods of severe thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes, Northwestern personnel closely monitor weather information and will notify students and employees to take shelter if needed.
