Rose will support faculty development and will serve as a resource for the college and our departments to cultivate policies, practices, and cultures to promote faculty success and well-being.

The associate professor of supply chain management will step into the role in July.

Congratulations, Dan Houston ('84 marketing)! The Ivy graduate and retired chairman, president, and CEO of Principal Financial Group received the Iowa State University Distinguished Alumni Award!

The Distinguished Alumni Award, established in 1961, is the highest honor given to alumni by Iowa State University through the ISU Alumni Association.

Houston has remained an integral part of the Ivy community over the years, serving as chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council, sharing his expertise and insight while opening up unique opportunities for our students through his support. Dan and Joanie ('84 physical education) Houston have also played a major role in our sales program, and the home of the program is named the Houston Professional Sales Suite to honor their support.

"Research shows that exposure to green spaces can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and enhance focus." 🌿✨

Mylie Miller, an incoming senior in management and public relations, created a special place for students to study this prep week, right within Reiman Gardens.

The marketing and communications intern for Reiman Gardens developed “Finals in Full Bloom” for her capstone project — a campaign that provided quiet study spaces, free coffee, and relaxation activities for students, all while immersed in a serene backdrop and a comforting atmosphere.

"I said yes to every opportunity I had, and never once regretted that." 💡

From leading student organizations to landing internships, Sadie Leinen, a graduating senior, truly made the most of her time at Iowa State.

The management information systems and marketing major served as president and marketing chair of the Information Systems and Business Analytics Club. She was also president of the Campus Service Council, a campus volunteer club.

She gained professional experience as a data analytics intern at Principal Financial Group and completed the Ivy Seminar for Emerging Leaders twice, hearing insights from C-suite executives.

"Looking back at my time in college, I am so glad I took advantage of so many different opportunities because it led me to meet so many new people."
