May the Fourth be with you! Here's a video we made a couple of years ago when construction was happening by the Science and Engineering Library in the Lederle GRC. The construction has since been completed, and SEL itself now has a new classroom area and the Mass Aggie Seed Library.

Thanks to everyone who has already donated to the Libraries' fundraiser for the Student Care and Emergency Response Fund (SCERF). We've reached our goal of $5,000, but that doesn't mean you still can't donate and show your support for our students!

Tune in this week to watch Annette Vadnais, Student Success and Outreach Librarian (better known as the Purple Hair Librarian), shed her purple hair live on the Libraries’ page!

Annette LOVES the Libraries and the students at UMass; here she is dressed as the W. E. B. Du Bois Library!

If we reach our goal of $5,000 by Monday, April 13, Annette Vadnais, Student Success and Outreach Librarian (better known as the Purple Hair Librarian) will shed her purple hair live on the Libraries’ page!

Why is she known as the Purple Hair Librarian?
"I wanted to do my hair silver, but my husband said I was too old to do that, so while talking to my hairdresser she said why don’t we do a silver base with purple ends. Then it morphed into purple. I liked it and thought that by keeping my hair the same color and branding it, I could be more approachable."

Is it just me, or does one of the eggs seem to be missing? I swear there's only two in there right now.
Yesterday I was at the Library and noticing the sad shape of the courtyard needing a bit of Spring TLC. So I took it upon myself to donate an hour of my day to spruce things up a bit. I only cut back stuff that I knew needed it. It'll be slow but I'll get there. By the way, there's another duck nesting in the same grass as last year
Will there be a Tower Run this year? 🤞
Dr French did amazing work with the falcons that nest on top of Du Bois Library. He will be missed!
Go UMass Libraries! Steve Priest '66 Engineering, just published his sixth outdoor adventure guidebook, "Outdoor Play 4 Seniors." Speaking of ice-boating on Perkins Pond, here is one video from my latest book. The book is on Amazon.com in both paperback and e-book. With e-book, you click on the link, and you can whirl around Perkins Pond with Outdoor Steve. 😀 Amazon has a special, buy the paperback, and the e-book is free! https://www.amazon.com/dp/0985038454 https://youtu.be/6L8pihMM89I
In case you haven't seen this yet!
Found while researching something else in "Transactions of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, 1905 (Necrology):
Both falcons have been there off and on for a few days now. And today, there is a hollowed out space. I'm really hoping for some eggs soon!
Please consider sharing - I have recently seen people feeding bread to the geese. It is very bad for them.
