What’s in my bag (tutor edition)!!! Here are some helpful tips and things to keep on hand during your study sessions :)

[Image Description:
An image of a daily planner and a computer with the description - Physically writing down what is on your to-do list makes a huge difference. Taking this extra time can be a huge help with time management!

Though may seem obvious, a computer is necessary for checking emails and Canvas!

Image of blue headphones and a portable charger with the description-
Having headphones are a great tool for staying focused and zoning out from busy campus noise! Similarly, it can be hard to find study spots, having a portable charger can save you from that hassle of finding an outlet!

Image of a gray can with colorful pens, pencils and other stationary. Also an image of beige notebook. Description- Being able to highlight and write notes down on actual paper makes a huge difference! It helps with memory, learning, and a nice break from screens :)

An image of a banana and a light green Owala with the description - Food and water is necessary for having stamina during a long study session. Easy to forget but so important!]

October is AAC Awareness Month! 💙

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) includes tools and strategies that support people who communicate in ways other than speech.

AAC is more than words; it supports independence, self-expression, and connection!

College doesn’t have to feel confusing and stressful. Academic Success Coaching offers personalized, 1-on-1 support to help you feel more successful.

[A colorful promotional graphic for Academic Success Coaching. The background is purple with a light grid pattern and playful abstract shapes in green, pink, and yellow. At the top, large white text reads, “ACADEMIC SUCCESS COACHING.”
On the left is a large, slightly tilted pale-yellow note with dark blue handwritten-style text that reads: “Coaching sessions can focus on: • understanding how you learn • navigating UMass academic systems • building resilience and well-being • making college less confusing.”
On the right, white text reads: “Email [email protected] to get started!”
At the bottom right is another tilted pale-yellow note with dark blue handwritten-style text that reads: “Students meet 1-on-1 with a peer advisor or professional coach. Work on: • study strategies • applying skills directly to coursework • developing personalized strategies.”
The design has a playful, hand-drawn aesthetic, with decorative tape-like shapes, colored dots, and abstract lines around the notes.]
