DO YOU WANT TO LEARN TO RAISE BEES (FOR HONEY)? If you are serious about learning be become a backyard beekeeper, you are invited to take STOCKSCH 166 - Practical Beekeeping with us this fall. While the class is only open to Sustainable Food and Farming majors, we are inviting a few non-majors to join us for this class. If you are interested, contact the instructor; Angela Roell DESCRIPTION: This course will focus on knowledge pertaining to honeybee hive anatomy & social structure, and the management strategies necessary to perform basic beekeeping. The course examines the honeybees role in agriculture and the ecosystem. The course encourages interest in and application of best management practices for successful small scale beekeeping. The course supports development and use of acquired knowledge and skills for creative & sustainable agricultural pursuits. Tuesday/Thursday from 2:30pm-3:45pm 3 Credits
