Congratulations to Dr. Hoekstra for being awarded the 2022 Graduate Faculty Teaching Award by the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) at the Master’s level!

NAGS is comprised of all graduate schools across the US Northeast and also includes graduate schools in the Canadian southeast.

The award committee highlighted Dr. Hoekstra’s leadership in revamping the master’s degree program in Biological Sciences, which has led to increased applications and increased success of students upon completion of the program. The committee also noted his strong commitment to graduate students in the program as evidenced by his record of excellent teaching and mentorship.
