Are you in need of rental assistance??

The Amherst Emergency Rental Assistance Program is continuing at least until this June. Households that are at risk of eviction for nonpayment of rent can make application to this program. Households that have already received three months of rental support can apply for an additional three months, if they continue to meet the program eligibility criteria. The program continues to be administered by Community Action Pioneer Valley https://www.communityaction.us/amherstrentalassistance.

People who apply to this Amherst program, can simultaneously apply to the State’s RAFT program at https://www.wayfinders.org/apply-financial-assistance. Finally all households at risk can take advantage of the CDC eviction moratorium, extended until the end of March. This can temporarily insulate households from being evicted, and more information is available at . https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/declaration-form.pdf. .

Drawing Across the Color Line with Kids

https://www.embracerace.org/resources/drawing-across-the-colorline-with-kids

Calling artists, educators and parents! Hope you can join this important conversation!

We think there’s a lot at stake in teaching kids to see themselves and each other across lines of race, and have invited some of our favorite picture book illustrator-writers to talk it through. Grace Lin, Oge Mora and Yuyi Morales will share their experiences as children who didn’t see people w...

The Common School, located in Amherst, is accepting applications for in-person learning for fall of 21-22. Please check out our website for more information at www.commonschool.org
Hi student parent colleagues and friends. Wanted to drop a quick recommendation for an awesome preschool our little one attended last year - Farm Hands Preschool in Northampton. They re-opened during the summer with new health and safety protocols and our kiddo couldn't have been happier to return to this wonderfully nurturing, supportive, diverse, fun, mostly outdoors (!!) preschool. If you're looking for childcare (full or part-time) this semester please contact their director Alya Stoffer ([email protected]) or feel free to connect with me if you'd like more info. I believe they have some positions available for the fall. Also, we got a childcare grant from UMass Student Parent Programs which helped enormously, so Farm Hands is already in the UMass system. Hope this can help another family as much as it helped us :-) (Photo of our kiddo on her last day at Farm Hands...the smile says it all!!)
