For almost 35 years, the Stonewall Center has served the campus, the other Five Colleges, and the surrounding community by providing cultural and educational programming; LGBTQIA ally training sessions; a Speakers Bureau on LGBTQIA and ally issues; a dvd, video, and book library; information and referrals; support for individuals who experience harassment and discrimination; advocacy for LGBTQIA students at UMass Amherst; and community outreach through Queer-e, our weekly listserv of LGBTQIA and Allies Five-College and local events.

Mission: The mission of the Stonewall Center is to provide support, resources, programming, and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA) and allied students, staff, and faculty at UMass Amherst and for the larger Pioneer Valley. We also seek to educate the campus and local community about heterosexism, genderism, other forms of oppression, and the intersections of identities and oppressions in order to strengthen and sustain an inclusive climate for LGBTQIA individuals and their allies. We work closely with other campus departments and offices and local organizations to foster student learning, development, and leadership; promote academic excellence; build LGBTQIA communities; and enhance the lives of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

There's some bills in the work that are going to cause trans people in Russia to suffer immensely. Please sign these petitions: https://action.allout.org/en/m/1fcd00f3/ Please note, that Russia is deeming the petitions "unconstitutional" so they don't hold a lot of weight anymore. My name is Price Van Ray. I just finished recording the audio to the first chapter of my new book. It is entitled “The Gay Book”. Could you please tell me what you think. It took me two years to write and many nights crying. The book is about a 11-year-old black boy growing up gay in the early 1970’s. He must deal with homophobia, racism, bullying and more. But you see what happens in the span of a year and what true friendship really is. Thank you. Peace and Love.
