APU’s first Elder’s Tea of the season brought students, Elders and community members together for food, conversation, and connection.
This gathering was held on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. Elder Wilson Justin shared thoughtful reflections on the history and lasting impacts of boarding schools, raising awareness about the importance of remembering, honoring and learning from the experiences of those affected by residential schools. We are grateful to Elder Wilson for sharing his perspective and to the greater community for coming together in solidarity with Indigenous communities.
