Every month, we spotlight a student in the Weidner Property Management and Real Estate (WPM+RE) Program at UAA who is making things happen. This month, that student is Tucker Haley. Tucker's interest in real estate started with property tax lien investments and quickly grew into a career path. After attending our REM+I Workshop in July 2025, he knew UAA was the place for him. Today, he is a second-year student pursuing a dual major in Management (Property Management and Real Estate concentration) and Marketing.
Here's what Tucker has accomplished so far:
- Interning with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC)'s Public Housing Department, supporting senior, disability, and multifamily housing operations
- Earning $10,000 in real estate scholarships, including the $5,000 Weidner Scholar award
- Attending NAA's APARTMENTALIZE conference in New Orleans on a travel award
- Serving as an officer in the REM+I Club and as a 2026-27 WPM+RE Student Ambassador
His take on the industry says it all: "Everybody needs a place to live. Residential property management excites the business side of my brain while giving me the joy of genuinely helping people." His advice to incoming students? "Take advantage of every opportunity, and apply for scholarships early." Read Tucker's full story below.
