Ministry students at Anderson University do not just pick up skills and knowledge from professors in a classroom, but they also get to do ministry in practical ways. In recent weeks, students have served in chapel by reading scripture, leading prayer, running sound and slides, and leading worship songs. This week we also had two graduate students preparing and leading a class session for their classmates. During Homecoming weekend, we saw a group of students with a variety of majors (including ministry and worship majors) lead worship through their musical and songwriting gifts as AU Movement released their first EP of arrangements and original songs. This is just a sample of the things our students are doing to serve their communities and churches here in Anderson and around the world!

This morning Miller Chapel welcomed Dr. Brian Martin, Dean of Spiritual and Intercultural Life at Anderson University, as our chapel speaker, sharing an inspiring message out of 2 Samuel about temptation, sin, and God's forgiveness. We welcomed Larry Sellers on organ as part of our worship team today as well!

So grateful to have Dr. Lynn Cohick on the AU campus today for the 45th Annual Newell Lectures in Biblical Studies for three lectures and a Q&A with Dr. Leanne Ketcham.

The 45th annual Newell Lectures in Biblical Studies will take place Monday, October 19th in Miller Chapel at the School of Theology and Christian Ministry building, Edwards Hall, on the campus of Anderson University. Lectures will take place at 10am, 11am, and 2pm, with a Q&A at 3pm. We hope to post recordings of the sessions later this fall for those who cannot attend in person. You are welcome to join for one or two sessions if you can't make it for the whole day.

Worship in Miller Chapel today was led by part of the AUMovement team. AUMovement is a student-initiated songwriting/worship group on campus. The team has been leading at youth conventions and other events like the Preaching Clinic while writing and recording new worship songs for the Church. (Their EP, Foundations, will release tomorrow, October 16, on major streaming music platforms. They will host a release party as part of the Homecoming festivities this weekend. You can join us on campus for this release event at 9pm, tomorrow, in Reardon lobby.)
