We would also like to welcome Amber Williams this ! Williams is the Assistant Director for the Community Action and Social Change (CASC) minor at the School of Social Work where she facilitates co-curricular programs, and campus partnerships. Williams' previous work focuses on social justice education through dialogic facilitation, in addition to student leadership development through campus activism, multicultural affairs, and service learning. Her most recent work explores innovative academic and co-curricular initiatives that foster student engagement in community practice. She is passionate about contemporary campus-based activism and the role of student leaders in the transformation of higher education policy and practice in relation to diversity, equity and inclusion. Williams also teaches part time in the School of Social Work as an Adjunct Lecturer on themes related to social justice education, and interdisciplinary theoretical approaches to social change.

This we would like to welcome Steve Vinson! Vinson started his career as the manager of a multi-disciplinary clinic at Michigan Medicine before switching over to the finance department in 2002. He has been leading the University of Michigan Medical Group Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee since March of 2017. Due to his efforts leading DEI initiatives, Vinson was the recipient of the Office of Health, Equity and Inclusion’s inaugural DEI Advocate Award in 2018. As a member of the organization’s Facilitator Engagement Program, Steve facilitates Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops across campus. Steve is also a member of the University of Michigan Voices of the Staff – Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team, receiving the Voices Champion Award in 2019. He led the Voices-ADEI team projects for the University’s Diversity Summit.

This we would like to introduce Dr. Vincent Vigil! Dr. Vigil currently serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). Previously, he served as the Interim Director for CSUF’s Diversity Initiatives & Resource Centers and as the Director for Student Life & Leadership. Prior to working at CSUF, he served as the Director for Campus Organizations at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and he served as the inaugural Director for the LGBT Resource Center at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Vigil also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Education for USC in their Master of Education Educational Counseling Program and their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) Program. Dr. Vigil is a first-generation college student from Pico Rivera, CA. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Whittier College and his master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the USC Rossier School of Education. In 2007, Dr. Vigil graduated with his doctorate (Ed.D.) degree in Higher Education Administration from USC.

We would also like to introduce Dr. Angela Vidal-Rodriguez this ! Dr. Vidal-Rodriguez is the Director of the McNair Scholars Program at Northeastern Illinois University. For 16 years, she has served in several programs dedicated to advance the educational opportunities of underrepresented and nontraditional students in higher education. She recently attained her doctoral degree in higher education from the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan. She received her M.B.A from Northeastern Illinois University and her B.A. in economics from Anahuac University, Mexico. She is interested in the way higher education institutions navigate external and internal stakeholder’s pressures when dealing with issues of access and success of undocumented students in higher education. She likes to teach and mentor young scholars. Currently, Angela teaches research methods and student development classes.

This we would like to welcome Ana Tayeb! Tayeb is a native Floridian and an Arab American. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida in psychology and a Master's degree from the University of Georgia in industrial/ organizational psychology. She has worked at Hillsborough Community College (HCC) for seven years, beginning as a writing tutor while in undergrad. She is now the Enrollment Development Coordinator and an adjunct psychology professor at HCC. Prior to her role as coordinator, she worked in the Office for Services of Students with Disabilities (OSSD) at HCC.

We would also like to introduce Dr. Carmeda Stokes this ! Dr. Stokes is a consultant with the University of Michigan, Organizational Learning-UHR. She has over 20 years of experience providing guidance and consultative services to management and staff in areas including leadership, performance management, employee development, employee engagement, and change management. Dr. Stokes earned a PhD from the University of South Florida in Curriculum Design & Instruction and a Master of Arts in Adult Instruction & Performance Technology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She also holds an executive coaching certification from Linkage, Inc. A dedicated lifelong learner, her professional passion is enabling individuals, teams, and organizations to define their goals and achieve them by developing their potential to grow and transform.
