Ever wonder what Michigan Football players do on a day off from practice?

Earlier today, some Wolverines accompanied 20 children from Parkridge Community Center on a back-to-school shopping trip at the Meijer on Ann Arbor-Saline Road.

In the first photo, tight end Zack Marshall helps 7-year-old Nyla pick out a pair of shoes, which was followed by some running and jumping down the aisle to make sure they fit just right.

“If you can’t enjoy hanging out with some kids on your off day, you’ve got something messed up with you,” Marshall said with a laugh. “If you’re too worried about your achy back or sore shoulder — and trust me, I have them both — it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, this kind of stuff is more important than what we do on the field.”

Thank you to all the players who helped make back-to-school shopping a little easier and created some lasting memories along the way.

It’s getting real! WCC faculty and staff kicked off a week of professional development today as we prepare for the Fall 2026 semester, which begins August 31.

It was great reconnecting with friends and colleagues — but we can’t wait to welcome students back to campus, too!
