Join us for the Safe Medication and Sharps Disposal Event!

This is an event through which expired medications and sharps (e.g. needles) are collected in an environmentally safe way. Safe medication and sharps disposal is important in reducing the risk of drug diversion/abuse/misuse, preventing accidental poisoning and ingestion by children, risk of virus transmission, and keeping potentially harmful substances out of our water and landfills. This is a public-facing event that will be run by student and pharmacist volunteers.

Operation Mental Wellness of APhA-ASP hosted a Pharmacy Paint Party on December 5th from 4pm to 6pm . This was a night to be creative and socialize in order to destress before finals! Students were able to paint and socialize with other pharmacy students to learn about each other and express their feelings through art.

Fantastic opportunity last Friday to meet and speak with Dr. Ilisa Bernstein, the Interim CEO and Executive Vice President at APhA!

Dr. Bernstein spoke about her background including the steps she took to reach her goals/the position she is in now. Considering her PharmD and JD background, Dr. Bernstein has a great interest in policy. In combination with phenomenal student participation and her interests, it led to a great conversation and an enjoyable time overall!

[Image description: Tile 1; 22 students and Dr. Bernstein stand grouped together, smiling for a group photo. Tile 2; Students (50+, enjoying lunch) are dispersed amongst 10 tables throughout the large room while Dr. Bernstein stands in the middle-right with the microphone speaking.
