Congrats to the Google STARs 👏

Last week, celebrated its largest Google STAR (Skilled Trades and Readiness) cohort yet—13 graduates—who completed five weeks of intensive, hands-on training.

Funded by Google, this transformative program prepares individuals from underrepresented communities for rewarding careers in , from HVAC to welding. The ceremony was filled with pride as friends, family, and leaders from both Google and NOVA gathered to honor their achievement.

FCED and NOVA Community College are proud to announce the Upskill Fairfax City Tuition Assistance Fund, a new initiative designed to boost career readiness and workforce development by offering tuition-free professional certifications and technical training. 🧑‍🎓

Through this program, eligible City of Fairfax Government, VA residents and employees of Fairfax City businesses can access certification programs in high-demand fields such as IT, healthcare, cybersecurity, human resources, and other skilled trades. By eliminating financial barriers to these certifications, Upskill Fairfax City empowers participants to elevate their careers, explore new opportunities, and help meet the needs of the local workforce.
