Naval Academy Primary School Middle School students and teachers picked a gorgeous autumn day to visit our Hendrix Lab and learn about ! Instructor Alex Davies gave the students a weather brief and helped them conduct a weather balloon launch off Hendrix Pier. The balloon reached an altitude of 15.2 km (9.4 miles) above ground level before we lost communication with it 27.1 km (16.9 miles) southeast of Atlantic City, NJ over the Atlantic Ocean. The students asked great questions and we hope we inspired some up-and-coming environmental scientists!
