We’re proud to celebrate Cade Miller! A graduate from White Plains High School and Calhoun County Career Academy, Cade turned his passion for machining into a national SkillsUSA championship. Cade was a dual enrollment student with Gadsden State Community College while in high school and now attends the Ayers Campus and works for industry partner General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems through the CoMeT program.

💰 Preparing Students for Succes Inside and Outside the Classroom

Today, our Ayers Campus FAME Juniors joined our precision machining Work-Based Learning program CoMeT students to participate in a financial literacy class with Family Savings Credit Union! The course highlights financial planning, the purpose of a credit union, how to open checking and savings accounts, and budgeting.

Today, Gadsden State Community College welcomed the National Association of Manufacturers and FAME USA for a great conversation about the incredible work-based learning opportunities available to our students.

We were also pleased to have industry partners at the table, sharing their experiences, and providing valuable insight into how these programs are working for their companies and the workforce.

We were pleased to welcome Blastcrete Equipment LLC to the Ayers Campus of Gadsden State for a tour and conversation about building a stronger workforce partnership. President Smith, Dean Robertson and the Workforce Development team enjoyed learning more about their workforce needs and exploring ways Gadsden State can help develop a skilled talent pipeline for Blastcrete and their family of local businesses.
