Women & Identities in Gaming Symposium

Women & Identities in Gaming Symposium WIGS is focused on expanding our awareness and examining our perspective of the gaming community. Hosted at Lawrence University.

WIGS is a community wide event at Lawrence University focused on expanding our awareness and examining our perspective of the gaming industry from all angles to encompass all forms of gender and identity. A symposium allows participants to immerse themselves in the topics addressed and interact with experts on various sides of the field.

“I don't know how many of you play games -- and by games I

mean everything from Call of Duty to Candy Crush – but it doesn’t matter. Because this isn't just about the people who sit behind console controllers or PC monitors. This is about women; how women are represented in a product, how women have access to an industry. And as women it is our responsibility to be not just involved in, but be leading the discussion -- not to be swept along as it happens without us. So, spread the word, donate (time or money), or come and learn! Be a part of the solution.” -- Greta Dohl, WIGS Founding member
