Fox Valley Technical College's ATW ARFF Training Center is attracting growing international attention, most recently hosting firefighters from Costa Rica for specialized airport emergency response training. The firefighters trained with Spanish-speaking FVTC instructors and gained hands-on experience using the center's industry-leading live fire training props.

FVTC Residential Building Construction students learn concepts in class, practice in the shop and then apply their skills by building a real home from the ground up.

Today was one of our faculty members last First Day. After 30 years of teaching in ECE at FVTC, Judi Bourin will retire in January of 2027. What a last first day celebration! 🎉

Eddie entered our Highway Construction Skills Training (HCST) program with one thing driving him every single day: building a better future for his daughter.

From day one, he went above and beyond. Before even enrolling in Fox Valley Technical College's Behind the Wheel program, Eddie took the initiative to independently earn his Class A CDL permit and FED/MED card. He even went on to earn his Manual Class A CDL License plus doubles and tanker endorsements. 👏

Commuting daily from Appleton, Eddie never missed a class and was never late. Every early morning, every challenge, every certification — it was all for his daughter. ♥️

In April, that hard work paid off when Eddie was hired by Carew Concrete & Supply Co. Since then, he's been dropping chutes and pouring concrete across communities including Appleton, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Scandinavia, and New London — proving himself as a dependable, hardworking member of the team. 🚛

Eddie's story is proof that HCST training isn't just about gaining skills — it's about creating stability, opportunity, and hope for families. 💪

FVTC Director of Security Services Derek Reiter recently participated in a Wisconsin ESGR Boss Lift event, gaining firsthand insight into the experiences of Guard and Reserve members. Nominated by Security Services Manager and National Guard member Kevin Berry, Derek joined other employers for a day at Fort McCoy that included flights aboard a Black Hawk helicopter, military demonstrations and conversations with service members.

Thank you to Kevin for his service and for helping strengthen the connection between FVTC and those who serve our communities and country.
