Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Fisheries Biology Our Fisheries Biology programs balance classroom learning with practical experience in the field and

HSU Fisheries professors have a hands-on, field oriented educational philosophy. Few academic programs provide such a strong interplay between classroom theory and field laboratory practice. An on-campus fish hatchery, a marine laboratory, and a 90' ocean-going vessel are integral features of our instructional program.

Green Diamond is excited to announce the second year of our Job Shadow and Scholarship Program, designed to help students connect academic learning with real-world career opportunities in forestry and natural resource management. This program was created for students pursuing academic degrees in accredited forestry or natural resources programs. Our goal is to help them explore career paths, see some of the hands-on application of the work, and receive meaningful financial support as they work toward completing their education.

Through this program, students can:
Participate in a three-day unpaid job shadow experience at one of our operating locations.
Learn and see hands-on application of the work directly from experienced forestry and natural resource professionals.
Explore career paths and connect classroom learning with field work.
Apply for a scholarship award of up to $2,000.

We would appreciate your help sharing this opportunity with students pursuing degrees in forestry, natural resources, and related fields. Together, we can help students explore career possibilities, build professional connections, and take the next step toward a rewarding career.

How to apply:
The program is open for applications now with details included in the process. Interested students can apply directly through our website: https://www.greendiamond.com/communities/scholarships

Application Deadline: November 30, 2026
