Meet Tracey Engelking, a soon-to-be Fall 2026 Leadership Studies Graduate! 🎓💛

“This degree has been 35 years in the making, so it is totally unreal to be here thinking about where I can be in ten years now that I’m all degreed up. Incredible!! When I started here, I had no connection to becoming a leader. Admittedly, I was here for the bachelor’s degree and to check the box. To me, leaders were people with strong, alpha personalities. Very ‘the buck stops here.’ How could I be a leader when I am very much not that? I’m compassionate, soft and pretty ‘woo woo’ spiritual by nature; I never thought someone with my personality had enough metal to lead. Through the coursework here, and having administrators, professors, and members of my cohort (who are now lifelong friends) cheer me on, I started to see myself differently and rethink what being a leader means. Yes, great leaders are strong and found at the tops of huge corporations and massive organizations. But they are also found in quiet offices, sitting one on one with someone, helping them find their strength.” — Tracey Engelking
