We had an amazing turnout for our Dress for Success: Professional Attire Do’s & Don’ts event! ❤️🤍

Participants learned how important it is to make a strong first impression during the interview process. Through an interactive presentation and live modeling, we discussed what to wear and what not to wear to an interview, no matter what type of position you are applying for.

Whether you are interviewing for an office position, a service role, a maintenance position, or any other job, the goal is still the same: show up looking prepared, polished, and professional. We also encouraged participants to become familiar with the dress code of their workplace once hired and to understand how to dress appropriately for their specific role.

Our models helped demonstrate different interview looks while the audience joined in by identifying what worked, what didn’t, and why. We talked about clothing that may be too tight or too loose, professional grooming, heavy perfume or cologne, visible tattoos, accessories, and other details that can affect the first impression you make during an interview.

We also had great questions and participation from our attendees, which made the presentation even more engaging and educational.

We were excited to register one individual to vote during the event as well! Many of our other attendees were already registered from our previous voter registration efforts, while some were registered in their home states.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated as a model, joined in the discussion, and came out to support the event. Your participation helped make this program a success!

❤️🤍 IOTA DELTA IN ACTION! ❤️🤍

The Iota Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated proudly hosted our STD Awareness & Voter Registration Drive, and we are excited to share that the event was a tremendous success! 🗳️❤️

Throughout the event, we engaged students in meaningful conversations about STD/STI awareness, prevention, safe s*x, testing, and making informed decisions about their s*xual health. Students received educational pamphlets and condoms packaged in creative, discreet money-style wrappers 💵. The unique packaging was definitely a hit and served as a great conversation starter while helping us share an important message about s*xual health and prevention.

🗳️ WE ALSO EXCEEDED OUR VOTER REGISTRATION GOAL!

With 8 chapter members and a goal of registering 2 new voters per member, our chapter goal was 16 new registered voters. We are proud to share that we registered MORE THAN 20 NEW VOTERS! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

And this accomplishment was made even more special because two of those newly registered voters were our very own Iota Delta Chapter members! ❤️🤍🐘 We were extremely excited to see our Social Action efforts make an impact not only throughout our campus community, but within our own chapter as well! Civic engagement starts with us, and today we put that commitment into ACTION! 🗳️

We extend a very special THANK YOU to Utopia Empowerment Center and Executive Director Mr. Antoine Ghoston for generously donating the condoms, creative money-style wrappers, and educational pamphlets distributed during our event.

We also sincerely thank Dametrice FranSha Anderson for helping facilitate this generous donation and ensuring these valuable resources made their way to the Iota Delta Chapter. Your support and assistance helped make it possible for us to provide students with engaging, accessible, and important s*xual-health resources. ❤️🤍

It truly takes partnership, collaboration, and community support to make an impact, and we appreciate everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative!
