The Arkansas Nurses Association is pleased to introduce **Sarah Overbey, MSN, RN, Henderson State University Assistant Professor of Nursing** as the **Region 3 Director**.

Sarah brings a passion for nursing leadership, professional advocacy, and supporting nurses across Region 3. As Region Director, she will serve as a liaison between ARNA and nurses in the region, encouraging engagement, promoting professional development opportunities, and ensuring the voices of local nurses are represented in ARNA initiatives.

Sarah is committed to strengthening connections among nurses, fostering collaboration, and advancing the nursing profession throughout Arkansas. She looks forward to meeting nurses across Region 3, learning about the issues that matter most to them, and helping them become more involved in ARNA through networking, leadership, education, and advocacy opportunities.

Please join us in welcoming **Sarah** to the ARNA Board of Directors as our new **Region 3 Director**. We are excited to have her leadership and look forward to the positive impact she will make in serving the nurses of Region 3.

This meeting promotes presentation of research by students and faculty from throughout Arkansas (and sometimes neighboring states).
This year, HSU students making presentations of their research were Dakota Ashley, Jenna Bohnert, Johnathan Kratz, Conner McQueen, and Lydia Serviss. Faculty were Renn Tumlison, Brett Serviss, and Allison Surf. Altogether, seven oral presentations representing Henderson were made at the meeting.

Dr. Renn Tumlison, Emeritus Professor of Biology at Henderson State University, recently had a short article published in the magazine of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission called "ARKANSAS WILDLIFE". As a field ecologist, Tumlison often explores the natural world with camera in hand. A couple of summers ago, he found a Mississippi Kite circling a pond while it was hunting for prey, and witnessed the bird attempt to capture what turned out to be a lost fishing lure. Hooks on the lure pierced the foot of the bird and Tumlison was able to photo-document the event and turned the situation into a teaching opportunity via the magazine article.
