Serve with Purpose 💜 Tiger Serve Day is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon!

Join fellow Ouachita students, faculty and staff as we head out into Arkadelphia in teams to rake, trim bushes, clean flowerbeds, wash cars, paint, wash windows and more. It's a morning of hands-on service that reflects Christ's example of humility and love, "made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant" (Phil. 2:6-8), and a chance to build real relationships with the people we serve.

Nursing students, want to serve alongside the nursing department? Contact SNA for more details or to sign up!

📋 Fall Course Spotlight | Junior Year
Every great nurse starts somewhere, and for OBU Nursing juniors, it starts here.
Concepts in Nursing Foundations introduces the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes that define professional nursing practice. Drawing from the physical, biological, and behavioral sciences, students learn to organize client care using the nursing process, both in our campus lab and in real healthcare settings.
This is where theory meets practice for the very first time. 💜

Dr. Morris was busy representing OBU Nursing at the CHI recruiting event yesterday! 💜 She spent the morning sharing all the reasons our program is such a special place to grow as a future nurse, from our faith-centered approach to our hands-on clinical training.

If you know a student who feels called to nursing, we would love to talk with them! Head to OBU.edu/nursing to learn more about our program.

This morning marked a really special start to the semester for our OBU Nursing family: Convocation Chapel! ✨

Faculty, staff, and students from every level of the program, freshmen just beginning their journey and seniors preparing to graduate, gathered together in one room alongside the university faculty and student body to kick off the year the way we always want to: in prayer and gratitude. We took time to reflect on where God has brought this program and to ask for His guidance over everything ahead: the late nights studying, the challenging clinicals, the moments of doubt, and the moments of triumph.

There is something powerful about pausing at the very start of the year to remember why we do what we do. Nursing is a calling built on service to others, and we believe that calling is rooted in something bigger than any of us. Our prayer is that every student who sat in that chapel this morning leaves this year not only more skilled and more prepared, but more grounded in their faith and their purpose.

We are beyond excited for what this year holds for our OBU Nursing students. Here's to a semester full of growth, learning, and faithful service!

Yesterday, our senior nursing students took a step back into the skills lab for a skills refresher day! 🩺

With clinicals beginning next week for many of the students, they spent the day reviewing and sharpening essential nursing skills, building confidence, and preparing to put their knowledge into practice at the bedside.

We’re so proud of how far these students have come and can’t wait to see them shine in their final year of clinical experiences! ✨

Yesterday afternoon, faculty gathered for a Nursing Prayer Walk, pausing from the busyness of preparation to intentionally pray over our students, faculty, staff, classrooms, and the halls where so much learning and growth will take place. 🙏🏻

We prayed for wisdom, confidence, perseverance, protection, and encouragement for our students as they begin a new semester. We prayed over every classroom, clinical experience, and every student who will walk through our doors.

What a privilege to cover our nursing program in prayer and trust God with the semester ahead. 🤍

Today in family health (obstetrics), our students put their knowledge into practice! 🩺 💜

Students had the opportunity to practice measuring fundal height; a hands-on skill that helps assess fetal growth and development throughout pregnancy. We love seeing our future nurses build confidence and clinical skills in the classroom!
