Senior Spotlight πŸ’œ Meet Ashleigh β€” OBU Nursing Class of 2026, heading to the Emergency Department at Baylor Scott & White in Fort Worth, Texas!

Ashleigh, we are so proud of you and cannot wait to see the lives you will change in the ED.

She left us with some wisdom worth saving:

Her advice to future OBU nursing students: "Study hard, but also realize that nursing school isn't everything. Get good at time management and take time to do things you love outside of school work. If nursing school is 90% of your life, make the other 10% count!"

The most important thing she learned: "What a complete dependance on the Lord looks like. Nursing school challenged me in a way I had never been challenged before, and by coming face to face with my own weaknesses, I was so in awe of the Lord's kindness to carry me through, give me strength, and remind me that being a nurse is a beautiful picture of being the hands and feet of the Lord."

Congratulations, Ashleigh β€” we know you will make fabulous contributions to the nursing world!

Meet Hannah Claire Humphries β€” OBU Nursing Class of 2026, heading to work in Acute Care Rehab at Arkansas Children's Hospital!

Hannah Claire, we are so proud of you and cannot wait to see the lives you will change at ACH.

She left us with some wisdom worth saving:
To future nursing students:
"Give yourself study breaks and don't isolate yourself because you are always studying. Go do something fun every once in a while!"
Her best academic tip:
"Read the books and resources your teachers are giving you!"
The most important thing she learned:
"Cherish your life and be grateful for the abilities the Lord has given you, because something that you might be complaining about might be something someone else wishes they could do or have."

Congratulations, Hannah Claire β€” go be fabulous!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our OBU Nursing family! πŸ’œ

OBU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has obtained continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) through 2033. ACEN accreditation is a nationally recognized standard of excellence in nursing education, and maintaining this status reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students to delivering a rigorous, high-quality program.

This milestone is a celebration for everyone who has poured into OBU Nursing, from our alumni who blazed the trail to our current students who represent this program so well every day in the classroom and in the clinical setting. We are grateful and humbled by this recognition and remain committed to preparing servant-leader nurses for the glory of God.

Congratulations to our entire OBU Nursing community! 🐯✨

✨ Senior Spotlight | Class of 2026 ✨
Congratulations, Jocelynne! πŸ’œ
We are so thrilled to share that Jocelynne is heading to Med-Surg at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, AR to launch her nursing career! Hot Springs is getting a gem.
Jocelynne, you summed up the heart of nursing better than any textbook ever could: "People don't just need care, they need to feel cared for. Small acts of kindness and just being an ear to listen."
Yes. A thousand times, yes. πŸ’œ That is exactly the kind of nurse OBU sets out to graduate, and Jocelynne, you are living proof it works.
Her advice to future students? Two things worth writing down:
Remember your WHY when things get hard. And find your people. Study groups, late-night cram sessions, the ones who keep you motivated when you want to quit. Those relationships will carry you further than you know.
Jocelynne, this program is so proud of you. The patients at CHI St. Vincent are lucky to have someone walking through their doors who truly gets it. Go show them what OBU Nursing is made of! πŸ’œ

✨ Senior Spotlight | Class of 2026 ✨
Congratulations, Lyndsey! πŸ’œ
We are so excited to share that Lyndsey is heading to All For Kids Pediatric Clinic in Little Rock, AR to begin her nursing career! Those little patients are in wonderful hands.
When we asked Lyndsey what the most important thing she learned in nursing school was, her answer was a beautiful reminder of why we do this work:
"It's not always about the clinical skills and knowledge, sometimes just getting to know a patient and listening to their stories can make a big difference."
That is the heart of nursing, right there. πŸ’œ
And her advice to future OBU Nursing students is equal parts faith and encouragement: "Keep going! The Lord has not brought you this far to only bring you this far. Trust in His plan for your life. Nursing school is hard, it's ok to feel like you don't know everything, you're not supposed to. Take care of yourself and try your best."
Lyndsey, you have grown into such a compassionate, capable nurse, and we cannot wait to watch you thrive. The OBU Nursing family is so proud of you! πŸ’œ

✨ Senior Spotlight | Class of 2026 ✨
We are so proud of Elle! πŸ’œ After four years of growth, grit, and grace, she is heading to the UAMS Cardiac Progressive Care Unit in Little Rock, AR to begin her nursing career, and we could not be more excited to see what she does!
When we asked what the most important thing she learned in nursing school was, she said it best: "With God, nothing is impossible. I learned that I am capable of so much more than I ever imagined. Nursing school forces you to grow and challenges you academically, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I learned grit, perseverance, and how to depend on the Lord through everything and trust in the calling He has placed on my life."
And her advice to future OBU Nursing students? Honest, real, and straight from the heart: "Embrace the suck. Absorb the information and practice all of the skills you can. It's going to be a hard two years, but when graduation comes, you'll be wishing you had more time with classmates that turned into family and professors that genuinely care about you."
We could not have said it better ourselves. πŸ’œ UAMS is gaining an incredible nurse, and we are cheering you on every step of the way!

Julia has shown up with excellence, dedication, and a servant heart throughout her entire nursing journey at OBU, and we have absolutely no doubt that her best days are still ahead. Congratulations, Julia, go show the world what you can do! πŸŽ“βœ¨

Shoutout to our friends at CHI! πŸ’œ

Back when finals week was in full swing, CHI stopped by to deliver gift baskets to our graduating seniors who will be joining their team and honestly, the timing could not have been more perfect.

To our soon-to-be CHI nurses: you are already so loved and valued before you ever clock in for your first shift. That says everything about the kind of team you are joining.

Thank you, CHI, for investing in our students and for the partnership that makes moments like this possible. We are so grateful! πŸ’œ

WEEK 10
🎯 NCLEX Tip Tuesday: Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) β€” What You Need to Know
The NCLEX has evolved! The Next Generation NCLEX tests clinical judgment more than ever. Here's what's new:
πŸ“Œ Case studies with multiple related questions
πŸ“Œ New question types: extended drag-and-drop, trend questions, highlight questions
πŸ“Œ Focus on HOW you think, not just WHAT you know
πŸ“Œ Uses the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (CJMM)
πŸ’‘ Tip: Practice thinking through your rationale out loud β€” it strengthens clinical reasoning!
