A UTA-led pilot study found that simple upgrades like attic insulation, weatherstripping, and LED lighting helped lower energy use in South Dallas homes by about 10% on average, saving households an estimated $225 to $260 a year.

Led by UTA researcher Erick C. Jones Jr., the project shows how energy efficiency can make a meaningful difference for local communities.
