Dr. George Ackerman brings extensive academic preparation and criminal justice scholarship to UMT students. In 2026, he published five new books covering criminal justice, criminology, criminal procedure, juvenile justice policy, and corrections.

As Dr. Ackerman puts it: “In criminal justice, experience teaches us what happens in the field, research helps us understand why, and our voice allows that knowledge to reach those who can create meaningful change.”
