The field of Conflict Analysis and Resolution offers a unique lens to help students think about both historical and contemporary real-world problems.

The Carter School has resources to help teachers give students the tools they will need as next-gen citizens who can collaborate to build solutions together.

A rare visitor was just spotted on the shoreline at Point of View! 🪶🌿

Jessica Avila-Franco, operations manager at George Mason’s Point of View retreat and conference center in Lorton, VA, recently documented the property's very first recorded sighting of juvenile green herons.

As Environmental Science Professor Cindy Smith explained, green herons are notoriously secretive, preferring to hide in dense wetland vegetation rather than step out into the open like great blue herons. Their presence shows that the local wetlands surrounding Belmont Bay and the Occoquan River are healthy and thriving.

From bald eagles and ospreys to these elusive new visitors, Point of View continues to be a beautiful reminder of the rich biodiversity right in our backyard.
