How can higher education rebuild public trust?

Join Marymount University for the Marya McLaughlin Lectureship in Media Communications, featuring Nick Anderson, executive director of strategic communications at the American Council on Education and former longtime higher education reporter for The Washington Post.

In “Our Public Confidence Problem,” Anderson will explore why confidence in colleges and universities has declined, what institutions can do to reverse the trend, and why this fight matters to everyone.

⭐️Alumni Spotlight⭐️

Meet Heidi!⚜️💙

After finishing her accelerated BSN at Marymount in 2009, Heidi spent two years at George Washington Hospital, working in the Level 1 ICU. She moved on to pursue a meaningful career in critical care nursing, serving as a staff nurse, travel nurse and most recently, a Level 1 MICU Nurse Manager. Her career has taken her across the U.S. to places like Washington state, California, Hawaii, Florida, South Carolina, and Washington D.C.!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Heidi worked remotely as a nurse for a healthcare startup company while simultaneously sailing U.S. East Coast and the Eastern Caribbean.

Heidi is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree at the University of Evansville, and has plans to graduate in 2028!

Meet Tayler! ⚜️💙

After graduating with the Class of 2012, Tayler began building her career in design and project management, now working with Parks & Recreation in Washington, DC, while continuing to make a meaningful impact on the Marymount community.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Tayler has remained actively involved as Chair of the Black Alumni Club, helping strengthen connections and create opportunities for fellow Saints. Her dedication to giving back is already shaping the future of our alumni community.
