UT Arlington African American Faculty and Staff Association - AAFSA The UTA AAFSA provides a support network and a host of resources for African and African American faculty, staff, and students. AAFSA Goals

1.

Networking with other black faculty and staff and administrators throughout the University.
2. Part of any forum to discuss concerns, issues and have a voice in campus life.
3. Chance to get involved in community through AAFSA participation.
4. Part of a forum to discuss issues and concerns pertaining to African Americans
5. Work on projects pertaining to concerns of people of African Americans
6. Serve as a pipeline and tool for retention and recruitment of students, staff, and faculty.

Our very own Dr. Dereje Agonafer was elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE)! This is an incredible milestone to reach in an engineer's career. Congratulations Dereje for this well-deserved honor! This also boosts UTA closer to reaching Tier 1 status.
