Curious how to get better results from AI tools? Join today’s in-person sessions with the AI Prompting Lab to practice writing effective prompts in a supportive, low-pressure environment. You’ll work through realistic workplace scenarios and learn simple techniques to develop and refine your prompts to improve outputs.

Today’s session, Building Meaningful Prompts, 11 a.m. on Microsoft Teams, introduces practical prompting techniques to help participants create intentional prompts that support effective AI use. Attendees will explore examples, identify what makes prompts effective, and practice building their own prompts through guided learning. This session provides prompting skills that participants can immediately apply in tools like Copilot to improve accuracy, clarity, and usefulness in their AI-assisted work.

Day 2 of AI Awareness Week features another virtual session, Foundations of AI, at 11 a.m. on Microsoft Teams.

This session introduces core AI concepts, including a brief overview of AI, types of AI, and common tools in use today. Participants will learn the difference between open- and closed-loop AI systems and why that distinction matters in institutional settings. The session also provides practical guidance on when to use AI and how to apply it thoughtfully and responsibly in their work.
