UTA students who participated in this past summerโs Business Law in Spain study abroad program, led by UTA Professor Dr. Adriana Sanford, recently had another opportunity to engage with global leaders at the 2026 Global Health Catalyst Summit at Harvard and MIT.
Building on Dr. Sanfordโs model of global experiential learning through mentorship, service, and international engagement, the students met with leaders including Rear Admiral Susan J. Blumenthal, former U.S. Assistant Surgeon General, former senior public health advisor to the White House Domestic Policy Council, and the nationโs first Deputy Assistant Secretary for Womenโs Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); H.E. Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of Sierra Leone and President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD); and Dr. Julie R. Gralow, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Experiences like these demonstrate the power of experiential and global learningโgiving students opportunities to expand their perspectives, build meaningful connections, and engage with issues that transcend borders.
Weโre proud to help connect UTA students with the world, and thank Dr. Sanford for her leadership!
