RCC’s Founders’ Week continued this morning with a Day of Service in downtown Asheboro!

Members of the RCC family rolled up their sleeves to help clean up the area around our Education & Engagement Center — a small way to give back to the community we’re proud to call home.

A little teamwork. A little sunshine. And a cleaner corner of downtown. 🧡💙

📣 NORTH CAROLINA RADIOLOGY LICENSURE UPDATE

Unfortunately, the fight for radiology licensure in North Carolina has hit a roadblock for now. Wendy Weaver with the NCSRT shared that they have been unable to get the bill heard in the Senate, and both the House and Senate have now gone home until November.

But the work continues, and there are some amazing people behind the scenes pushing this effort forward.

Wendy recognizes Anna Phillips, Radiography Program Director at Randolph Community College and a member of the NCSRT Advocacy Committee. Anna has been a huge help to Wendy and the NCSRT, including creating their monthly advocacy newsletter and helping keep the profession informed.

Anna has been a radiologic technologist for 21 years, specializing in diagnostic radiography and CT. She became an educator because of the impact her own instructors (Jay Morris, Ron Linn, Joy Mason, and Lanny Maxwell) had on her, and today she is helping shape the next generation of imaging professionals.

Her words really stood out to me: “I am just one small part of the ongoing licensure efforts here in North Carolina.”

That’s exactly what advocacy is about. It takes a lot of people willing to speak up, educate others, and keep pushing, even when progress is slow.

Thank you, Anna, Wendy, and everyone with NCSRT who continues to fight for the future of our profession.

The bill may be paused, but the fight isn't over. 🩻💪

Randolph Community College’s Board of Trustees marked a special moment during tonight’s meeting as two returning trustees renewed their commitment to serving the College and a new member officially joined the Board. 💙🧡

Dennis Mabe and Chris Yow were re-sworn in as members of the Board of Trustees, while Paul Welborn took the oath of office for the first time.

Executive Assistant to the President and Board of Trustees Kevin Walker administered the oaths.

We appreciate our Trustees and their continued commitment to Randolph Community College, our students, and the communities we serve.
