The Department of Drama at UNC Asheville The Drama Department of UNC Asheville All students share a common core of classes that help establish critical thinking skills with a sense of aesthetics.

The Department of Drama at UNC Asheville supports a comprehensive theatre education that supports four areas of study; a general track, acting and directing track, production and design, and licensure. These learned skills are then applied in our laboratory, the mainstage productions. The mainstage shows have auditions that are open to the entire UNC Asheville community and we invite all in the Asheville area to attend.

A bit about Cabaret: Cabaret is a musical set in 1930s Berlin that contrasts the decadent nightlife of the Kit Kat Klub with the rising tide of Na**sm, exploring themes of racism, love, denial, and complicity. This show contains various expressions of sexuality.
